BenchMark Highlights
We are finishing unit 2, Characters Facing Challenges, on Monday and Tuesday, then continuing with the idea of characters, we begin unit 4, Characters with Different Points of View.
Spelling will focus on r-controlled vowels (or, oar, ore).
We will practice using a dictionary, alphabetical order, and guide words.

Vocabulary Words: boasted, jealous, admired, envy, senses, unique

My Math
Beginning chapter 4, subtracting two-digit number with and without regrouping.

This week, we will in…

  • BenchMark reading about characters facing challenges. We are reading a sequel to The Three Billy Goats Gruff. We will compare and contrast the two stories.
  • We will incorporate a STEM activity, where the students will be working in groups and will be designing rafts.
  • In spelling we are learning long i.
  • In My Math, we are learning how to add two-digit  math problems with regroup.

Halloween Hurrah
Halloween Hurrah is this Friday! I hope to see everyone there! It is a wonderful family event.

A little bit about me:
I’ve taught K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades. I’ve been at Clover Avenue for 13 years, and with LAUSD 14 years. I earned my teaching credential from Sonoma State. I earned my National Board Certified in 2010.
